CEBU: Hotel SOGO

Arriving at Cebu City on a rainy Saturday evening, February 12 (two days before V-day), could really be hard especially if you don't have any prior hotel booking. Going around the city and asking for room rates and knowing that everything is fully booked can be stressful Finally, we reached a hotel that is quite old and there are available rooms but the place seems filthy and there are hookers outside.

And then we saw a sign, Hotel SOGO. We headed to Sanciangko street to inquire. Hotel SOGO in Cebu City is not the kind of SOGO that we know of in Manila. There, tourists really flocked in because of the cheap accommodation. Imagine this, the hotel's selling point is that the rooms are on a per-hour stay basis-3 hours, 6 hours, 9 hours, 12 hours and 24 hours. So that suits everyone's needs.

We arrived there at around 8:00 p.m. from the airport and we got the 9-hour room because we need to be early at the pier the next day for our Tagbilaran ferry ride. They have promo during Sundays-Thursdays, 8p.m. to 5 a.m check-in. 400 pesos for 12-hour rooms. We were there on a Saturday, and 2 days before V-day, so we didn't avail of the promo. Our room was 720 for 9 hours. The 12-hour rate is 775. Not bad, right?

The rooms were clean plus they have towels, soap, blanket, slippers, cable TV, hot and cold shower, dresser, and free WiFi. So if don't have any qualms of not having a window in a room for a nice view of the city, then go for SOGO. It's really cheap and all the necessities are there. I requested for a hot drinking water at 4:00 a.m. and they were prompt in answering to my request, and with no extra charge.

    1. is it one-way or roundtrip? cheaper kasi ang roundtrip eh. ok na bumili dun na lang para mas makahanap ng mas murang ferry.
