Naki-field Trip

A field trip is usually a part of every school whether in private or public. As for me, I didn't join my school's field trip. I am not an adviser of a certain section so I didn't get a free pass for the trip, if I really wanna join I have to pay for my seat - boooo! (The first time I heard that teachers are paying for a field trip) So I didn't join the said field trip to Bataan and Subic.

So here comes an offer after a month or so, for me to join on my friend's niece on her field trip - for free! I said yes right away without even asking the details about the trip. All I knew was it's going to be on a Saturday (absent sa M.A.).

So what happened? I didn't realize that it would be a "family affair". My friend and all of his siblings were there plus the kids plus their better halves thus, we owned half of the bus.

MUSEO PAMBATA

First stop was the Museo Pambata along Roxas Boulevard in Manila. It was my second time here and it really improved from my first visit. This is my favorite museum and wished that I was younger to appreciate it more and just play around the whole day.

pre-schoolers with their parents/guardians
in awe
say, "Ahhhh..."'
love those
not that creepy
hi Anika!
can we switch places, just for now?
play-all-you-want type of museum
amazed

love these!
Hi Andrew!
they easily knew how to slide in this thing - instinct!

AEROSPACE MUSEUM

Next stop was the Aerospace Museum of the Philippine Air Force. If you fly frequently and use the Terminal 3, you've probably seen this one. I'm not really into planes and anything mechanic but I enjoyed riding in one of the fighter planes.
10 tumblings from Terminal 3
nice
It was fun inside
too bad they can't get inside the plane
Ze family. Thanks for the treat Ate Ellaine

RIZAL SHRINE (CALAMBA)

It was my first time to visit the Rizal Shrine in Calamba, Laguna. And this was my first ever taste of how filthy rich Rizal was. He was rich. Really rich. You can smell the affluence inside their house. Specially in the dining area, there's this fan-like mechanism on top of the dining table.

Her sisters also had a "nipa hut" bahay-bahayan on their backyard, I know it was just a replica but the idea of having a life-size play house was really for affluent people. I have nothing against Rizal (and him being rich which doesn't qualify him to be a hero - I don't believe that) but I was fed during my college years that there's someone who was more qualified to be the "National Hero". Thanks to my pro-Bonifacio prof. way back in college. You brainwashed me big time!

view from the backyard
I dunno if it's authentic
no tour guides - or maybe they were busy with other guests
the fan-like mechanism - astig!

DR. JOSE RIZAL'S STATUE (CALAMBA)

22-ft. statue unveiled last year

LUCKY ME NOODLE FACTORY

Next stop was the Lucky Me noodle factory. Instant noodle soup is very popular in our country. taking photos inside was prohibited but I stole one. The factory wasn't really exciting because the staff were rushing everything 'coz we were the last guests for the day. We saw how each pack was made in less than 10 minutes. Nice! We also took home some goodies.

smelled like noodles everywhere

ENCHANTED KINGDOM

And the most awaited part was next. And the kids on the bus got really excited and can't contain their happiness upon seeing Enchanted Kingdom from the bus. As for me, it's been 12 years since my first and last visit on the park. I had fun memories with my closest high school buddies.

When we got inside the park, we were so amazed on how many people were there. It was a Saturday and almost three-fourths of the people were on a field trip. I didn't imagine this place to be so packed like that. And then all my memories of how happy this place was is all gone. It felt packed and small (or maybe because I was younger before and everything felt bigger). You need to queue for 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours for the "major" rides. That was really annoying.

For 6 hours we only got to ride the Carousel (30 minutes queue), my favorite Flying Fiesta (30 minutes queue), the Anchors Away (1 hour and 15 minutes queue) and the amazing Space Shuttle (1 and 1/2 hours of queue). Yes it was fun but just thinking about the wasted time I'm dissing any idea on even going back there soon.

uhmm, excuse me? family outing ba 'to?
free maps on the concierge
you need to pay extra 80 pesos to ride this one
Anchors Away - before the ride
first time to ride the Carousel
Flying Fiesta - my all-time favorite. Bakit kaya?
Bye for now... I choose to retain my childhood memories with you... When everything seems bigger and better
What I realized from this trip was that I can be with pre-schoolers now for a long time. Before, I couldn't even stand a single noise or tantrum from a pre-shooler but now, I can be with them for hours and not be pissed. I also felt like one of the kids and not the "superior" one that with-just-one-look, you have to follow me and my orders - I did let them to be kids. I played with them, laughed with them and kid around with them. That feels great. No borderline. No teacher-student relationship. Which made me think... Kaya ko na kaya maging pre-school teacher? Hmmmm....
