Red Talks with Daphne Series by AirAsia

To be inspired through the journey itself rather than focus on the destination; that message from Daphne Oseña-Paez struck me the most. It was a night filled with fun as AirAsia launched the new face that will grace our Saturday nights through a web series of touching stories that will inspire your inner wanderlust. Here’s a preview on this exciting news.

AirAsia, voted for eight consecutive years by SkyTrax as the best low cost carrier not only in Asia but the world, recently launched a six-part web series featuring some of the best sights in Asia. Not only will they feature a certain locale but they will try to go deeper by featuring the rich culture and heritage of each featured place.

I was invited to grace the said event last March 20, 2017 at the newly opened state-of-the-art VIP Cinema of Venice Grand Canal Mall. I specifically settled on the last row and rigged my La-Z-Boy recliner seat before the grand launching commenced.

Red Talks with Daphne is hosted by the award-winning TV host and producer Daphne Oseña-Paez. She relived what happened behind the scenes while they’re filming the series. It was inspiring as we got to hear Daphne’s stories as she recounted some notable moments that touched her during the course of their trips. Philippines AirAsia Brand Manager David Viray also highlighted the humble beginnings of AirAsia as a dream turned into reality and how it inspired people not only in the Southeast Asian Region but the rest of the world. He added that the Red Talks team traveled far to search for places and people who share the same dream and story as with the company.

We got to see a glimpse of what to expect in the coming weeks and everyone got enthralled when we were told that we’re going to see the first webisode, exclusively.

Flew via AirAsia to Maldives. Thanks to seat sales :)
Destination: Dream. Daphne let us discover some trivial details about AirAsia’s success through its Group CEO, no less than Tony Fernandes (who doesn’t wanna be called ‘sir’). It was moving how he shared his dream transformed into reality and some insights on how to manage a worldwide brand. You definitely shouldn’t miss the first webisode.

The second installment of the web series, Destination: Fly, will take you to the lives of the cabin crews and how the company respects their multicultural background and individuality in a highly demanding job and environment. I love how they include a part that features the pleasures and pains of the people responsible for providing the comfiest flight for everyone.

The third part, Destination: Good, will feature the silversmiths of Arkomjogja. Daphne will take us to the architects and silversmiths in Yogyakarta, Indonesia and AirAsia Foundation’s efforts to keep these ancient traditions alive.

Flew to Nepal via AirAsia. Again, thanks to seat sales! :)
During the fourth week, Red Talks will feature ASEAN as a single market destination. Destination: Unity is all about how AirAsia is making it easier and exciting to travel around thousands of islands across Southeast Asia. I could very well relate to the vision of the company as two years ago I tried AirAsia’s ASEAN Pass and went to Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, and Malaysia using the pass during my summer backpacking trip (#ASEANSummerLoop2015).

The fifth installment will give emphasis on the pearl business in Palawan and its role in environmental protection. Destination: Harmony will motivate you to protect marine biodiversity through responsible eco-tourism.
The last episode on the web series, Destination: Freedom, will be a tribute to all travelers who have sense of thrill and adventure, Daphne will bring us to Shanghai in China and explore the vibrant city life.

Flew via AirAsia to Myanmar for their annual Thingyan Water Festival.
AirAsia's ASEAN Pass, thank you! :)
And with this, I would like to invite all of you to watch the premiere webisode of Red Talks with Daphne on AirAsia Philippines’ Facebook Page on March 25, 2017 (Saturday). We all love AirAsia for letting us fly to our dream destinations without breaking the bank; indeed Now Everyone Can Fly.
