Homey Feel at Lanson Place Bukit Ceylon Serviced Residences
After dinner, we decided to have our nightly beer sesh around the area.
But the moms refused to join us because they said they were too tired. They
went back to our home in Kuala Lumpur, Lanson Place Bukit Ceylon, while me and
my buddy went to a bar somewhere at Jalan Ceylon. We went home at around eleven
in the evening and were surprised to see them endlessly chatting on the kitchen
while having some tea and fresh fruits. They were speaking of our great
Malaysian adventure and how great it is to have a ‘home’ rather than a hotel
room for accommodation. Obviously, they're loving our two-bedroom suite.
Coming from Melaka, we took a two-hour bus that brought us to TBS (the main
long distance bus terminal in Kuala Lumpur). From there, we hailed a cab that
took us to Lanson Place in Bukit Ceylon. Kuala Lumpur was our second stop in
Malaysia for our annual two-month backpacking trip,
Same Same Summer Trip 2017, and for the first time, we brought our respective
moms during the first two weeks. It was their first time to experience
backpacking, while it was, as well, a new adventure to bring them along with us on this kind of trip.
Having been to Kuala Lumpur a number of times, we had a rough itinerary
on where we would bring the moms along (check here for discounted tours, transportation and activities in Kuala Lumpur). We had three days to go around the city
and we needed to get settled first.
I’ve been to numerous hotels in Kuala Lumpur on different areas, and
this time, I wanted for us to have the perfect location to maximize our short
stay. I searched the web and found that Lanson Place Bukit Ceylon had the
perfect room for the four of us, a two-bedroom residensi which I immediately booked
online (check for discounted rates).

Just as we stepped out of the cab, a staff welcomed and assisted us on
our luggage. The elegant and chic interiors welcomed us as we opened the glass
doors leading to the reception. I left the rest of the group on the lounge area
while I processed our booking.
The airy lobby was complemented with classy minimalist furniture and
fixtures set against the checkered black and white granite flooring. The
reception area may be intimidating at first, but once you sat on the plush
seats provided for guests, you’d feel at home as the friendly officers will
make you feel warm and welcome. I love how intimate and personalized the
setting was.

Billeted on a Two-Bedroom & Study Room Residensi, we were surprised
on how huge our home was as we tapped on the key card, 141 sq.m. to be exact.
There’s a hallway that leads to the dining area which has a round table with
six comfy chairs.

Next to it is a living area with L-shaped sofa, funky light
fixtures and an entertainment rack complete with huge flat screen TV, DVD
player, iPod docking station and surround sound system. We also had our own
router for the wireless internet, cool eh?
Living area
There’s also a fully functional kitchen complete with breakfast nook and
high stools. There’s a fridge, oven, microwave oven, electric cooktop, dishwasher,
espresso machine, and kitchen utensils. An automatic shutter blinds is also available that's used to cover
the whole kitchen counter if needed, perfect for receiving guests.
Fully functional kitchen
A small door just opposite the kitchen leads to a laundry room with a
separate washer and dryer, ironing board and iron plus an ample space to do the
laundry. There’s also a detergent available and you can request for more if
it’s not adequate enough.
And there's a laundry room too!
My mom and I were roomies and we occupied the master bedroom. Right
before I reached the said room, I went inside a door that led me to a study
room with an ergonomic chair, desk lamp, telephone and a long work table. The
space itself has its own individually-powered AC and I instantly got my stuff
and announced to everyone that this will be my own space in our so-called
temporary house in KL.
Study room
The master bedroom has a queen-sized plush bed and fluffy pillows. The
end tables have night lamps and we also had our own TV. There’s a lot of
storage space for our stuff rested at the same wall where the entertainment
rack was.
Master bedroom
The room also has its own toilet and bath. The space was, again, huge
as it’s divided into three separate areas; one for the lavatory with provided bathroom
amenities, a separate stall for the toilet and another one for the shower and
bathtub.
En suite toilet and bath
The guest room has two single beds and also its own TV where my buddy
and his mom stayed in. There’s another toilet and bath located right outside
the room which can also be used as a powder room for guests.
Guest room
And have I mentioned that we had a great view of Kuala Lumpur from the
bedrooms and the living area? Our moms were giddy as they inspected each and
every corner of the contemporary space and they were freaking out as we always
have the chance to see each other, unlike when staying on hotels with separate
rooms.
Second toilet and bath
As much as we wanted to just chill out, we wanted our moms to enjoy the
sights of the city and just promised them to go home early for them to have more
leisure time at Lanson Place Bukit Ceylon, which actually what happened that
night. So after showing them around the famous landmarks of Kuala Lumpur, we
headed for a quick food trippin’ session on the nearby Jalan Alor and then let
them go home as me and my buddy went for a round of beer.

After an hour of boozing up, we walked our way to our quiet community
thinking that our moms would probably be asleep at that time. We found them
endlessly chatting at the breakfast nook while having tea and fruits. We joined
them and went to bed really late that night.
KL Tower
I had the best sleep in ages. I woke up to the sound of my mom’s
footsteps and cocooned more inside the duvet. She went up to me and asked if
where we’ll be having our breakfast. I told her that we have complimentary
breakfast at the Lounge, she got more excited and asked me to get up right
away.
The Lounge
The Lounge at the 48th and 49th floor is exclusive for in-house guests.
A 360 degree-view of the city can be seen from the floor-to-ceiling glass
windows on both floors. There’s a billiard table, fully equipped gym, and more
lounge areas. We were welcomed by a gracious staff and allowed us to choose our
seats for that morning.
The Lounge
We enjoyed a wide array of Continental Breakfast. I loaded up with
bread rolls, hams, sausages, cheese and freshly squeezed juices. The moms
devoured a hefty amount of fresh salads and fruits. We had a nice time chatting
while enjoying the early morning view of the city.
Complimentary Continental Breakfast
Another round of sightseeing that day and we came home again to Lanson
Place that night and enjoyed watching some movies. The next day, we did some
laundry while hitting the swimming pool for our morning dip.
Sadly, it was also our last day.
Staying at Lanson Place Bukit Ceylon actually redefined the term ‘home
away from home’ as it provides all the comforts you’d ever need when you
travel. Our moms enjoyed their time on our lovely residence suite and both
mentioned that on our future trips, we should be staying on a ‘home’ rather
than in a ‘room’. We couldn't agree more.
