BOHOL: Dumaluan Beach, Panglao Island

I was so anxious to get to the beach right after our Bohol Countryside tour. On our way to Dumaluan beach (Panglao island), I asked kuya tatsky if he could drive faster for the sunset, and he said, "Walang sunset sa Dumaluan beach eh...". Huh? (*confused and startled). He said, "Pero may sunrise...". Oh! I get it. Masyado akong nasanay sa beach sunsets (South China Sea) kaya may gulat factor talaga.

We are so fortunate that our guide/driver/babysitter/photographer arranged everything for us (the tour, the ferry ride from Cebu and also the beach front accommodation). We chose the Dumaluan area because we want serenity from the hassles of the metro. Gusto namin steady lang. And according to our research, this area fits our specs (unlike sa Alona beach).

We were there at around 5:30 pm. We confirmed our reservation at their "front desk". It's a separate area from the rooms (it's right beside the DBR Grill). We filled out a form and then paid 1800 pesos (one night only) for their standard family room (we're 4 adults and 1 kid). We were then ushered to our room G-2.

DBR 1 boasts its beach front and the right to be Bohol Beach Club's nearest neighbor (isang tumbling lang nasa BBC ka na). During weekends, the cottages are full of daytrippers. There were a couple of cottages that were occupied given that it's a Sunday afternoon (maybe earlier there were plenty).

isaw-like stuff
ang salarin
We hurriedly changed and took a dip and how I love that it's high tide during that time. The sand is not that fine but is ivory-colored. There were isaw-like stuff along the shore (they are cute and gross at the same time), parang 'yung mga snails ang may salarin. The first line of the shore was rocky and there were some sharp corals (sa BBC walang ganun). Medyo malumot din, pero if you passed that part, sandy na. Bibihira na ang rocks. During low tide, malayo ang beach so hindi na rocky and corally (?!) And what's amazing about Panglao beach is that when you dig down deeper the sand, coral ang mahuhukay mo. As in isang malaking coral ang lahat ng iyon. Nice!

We had our dinner at DBR Grill. Sakto lang ang presyo ng food. We're 5 and our bill was 600. Sinigang na hipon, barbecued pork and chicken, sisig, rice and soda. Not bad noh? We slept early to catch the sunrise.

We woke up at around 5 am, had coffee (free hot water from DBR 1, water lang. hehe) and waited for the sunrise.

here comes the sun du-rum-du-rum
We were told that we can ask permission from the BBC's guard to cross the "border" from DBR 1 to BBC just to check the shore and some stuff. 'Coz as they say, it's different from that side of the island. We walked from DBR 1 to BBC with no problem at all. I guess, they will not reprimand you unless you trespass inside the facilities of BBC. Nobody owns the shore right?

crossing the "border"
We took that chance to check out and have photo ops on BBC's side. We even asked an employee to take a group photo. I told him, "Kuya, Happy Valentine's Day, pa-picture naman po kami tutal love day naman po ngayon". He obliged even if he only understood a few words (he conversed in his native language).

going back
Inspite the gloomy weather and the drizzles during the morning, we really had fun. I wished that we had more time to bum. But we had to catch our 11:35 am ferry ride back to Cebu. I promise myself that I'll go back to Panglao island to just bum around the beach with a good book and a nice weather. haaaay.

when we were about to go, umaraw ng todo
