Seda BGC: The Perfect Hotel Location in BGC

Seda Hotel in BGC Staycation

I woke to the sound of the door slowly shutting as Christian left to explore BGC’s jogging trails. I then scanned our bed to look for Akira and found him in deep slumber. I slowly got out of bed and went to the bay window, parting the curtains to see the early morning sun slowly peeking from the horizon. It was six in the morning and the morning glow was just starting to light up the mountainous part of Rizal Province. I breathed in and closed my eyes in relief, I just woke up from the best sleep I had in years.

Living on the northern part of Metro Manila since I was born, it’s always been a task for me to go south as it requires almost half a day to get there and back home. And after our simple Zambales orchard wedding in 2018, Christian and I settled in to our new house in Malabon City where he was born and bred. And yes, he shares the same sentiments as mine when going to the south of the Metro.

It was in 2022 when we brought Akira to Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig for the first time as the pandemic lockdowns eased up. After the trip, we realized how thrilled he was of its many green spaces. We also visited the Mind Museum during that time and he was totally enthralled.

After that day, he kept bugging us if we could spend a day in BGC for him to ride his scooter, ‘coz he saw other kids doing it. This was what was in my mind when I was thinking about how we would celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary this year. And Seda BGC seemed the perfect accommodation for a three-day staycation.

WEEKENDS AT BGC

Seda Hotel in BGC Staycation

Seda is a Philippine brand which owned and operated by Ayala Land Hotels and Resorts. The hotel chain has 11 branches in 2020 and Seda BGC is the first one which opened in 2012. The hotel is centrally located near the high-end shopping areas such of Bonifacio High Street and Serendra making it the perfect hotel location in BGC.

Together with our moms, we already stayed at Seda Vertis North during its opening in 2017, so we kinda know what to expect from this chain of hotels from Ayala Land. This time around, we decided to have a three-day stay so as to maximize our weekend and to truly capture BGC’s weekend vibe.

It was a hot Friday afternoon when we checked in. There were a lot of guests that day but the process was fast and easy.

ROOM

Billeted on a Deluxe Room, we were assigned on the 17th floor. The first thing Akira noticed was the height of the king-size bed, he was so amazed on how high it was and even demonstrated his struggle on getting on to it. He also mentioned how cold our room was as opposed to the scorching heat outside.

He then focused his attention on the alcove seating where he realized that there were glass windows hiding behind the blackout curtains. He exclaimed on how high our floor was and even mentioned that he could see small people and cars below. The view of Rizal Province was the perfect backdrop for the framed view. Our room was located on the eastern part so the intense afternoon sun wasn’t on our side.

Akira stayed on the window bench while I inspected the rest of the room.

The 30-square meter room was equipped with a work station with an executive table, ergonomic chair, media panel with HDMI, USB, and audio-visual connectivity that’s used for the 40-inch TV in front of the bed.

There’s also a mini bar complete a mini fridge, coffee and tea-making facilities, as well as an electronic safe placed inside the wardrobe closet.

The bathroom has a separate shower stall as well as bath amenities. A digital weighing scale and hair dryer were also available.

It was three in the afternoon and it was time for Akira’s nap. We completely shut the blackout curtains which made him sleep in an instant. At that moment, I prepared some coffee and Christian and I sat on the window bench to people-watch. There’s complimentary Wi-Fi connection but we opted to put our phone down and simply enjoy that moment.

FACILITIES

There are leisure facilities in Seda BGC which are readily available to in-house guests. They have an outdoor pool with a huge kid’s section and a gym. We, of course, never missed a chance to dip into the pool ‘coz Akira loves to wade and show his swimming skills to everyone.

Our stay came with complimentary breakfast for two but since Akira’s just three years old, he was free-of-charge.

FINAL WORDS

Our three-day stay at Seda BGC went by so fast but we enjoyed our lazy mornings and afternoons, and the eventful sights at night. Akira also enjoyed our outdoor adventures ‘coz some streets were closed to traffic during weekends. And of course, he enjoyed his endless scooter rides in BGC High Street.

It was truly the best way to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary and our tenth year of being together. We would definitely stay here again in the future.
